About Communicable Disease Control:

Health services to reduce the incidence and spread of Communicable disease include:

  • Childhood immunizations required by NC law, adult immunizations (including influenza, pneumonia, hepatitis B and tetanus), consultation and some immunizations for international travel
  • Tuberculosis (TB) skin testing and surveillance, examination, and treatment of TB patients
  • HIV (AIDS) testing and counseling
  • Sexually transmitted disease (STD) control services (including diagnosis, treatment, and contact follow-up)
  • Investigation, surveillance, and control measures for reportable communicable diseases as mandated by the State
