  • Municipality Annexations; Union County Zoning Map; Street Centerline Updates. With the growth in Union County, we’re always working on these layers!
  • Metadata.  Literally meaning 'data about data,' metadata is an important part of data management.  It provides essential information about the data itself, including details about the who, what, when, where, why and how of data collection and production.  The Union County GIS Department is currently updating the metadata for all of its data so that users can have all the pertinent details about the data offered by the county.  Union County follows the Content Standard for Digital Geospatial Metadata set by the FGDC.
  • Digital Flood Maps. “The State of North Carolina, through the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA’s) Cooperating Technical Community partnership initiative, has been designated as the first Cooperating Technical State (CTS). As a CTS, the State will assume primary ownership and responsibility of the Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs) for all North Carolina communities as part of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). This project will include conducting flood hazard analyses and producing updated, digital FIRMs (DFIRMs).” Visit www.ncfloodmaps.com for more information.
  • 2008 Property Revaluation.  We are pleased to provide the most current property tax values from the 2008 Property Revaluation on GoMaps.  Also check out the Tax Administration site for more information.
