| About Penalties & Disconnection: | |
| - Water and Sewer payments are due in full upon receipt and past due after the given date on the bill.
- After the past due date a five dollar ($5.00) late fee will be applied to the total balance.
- A return check fee of $25.00 will be charged to a customer in the event of a returned check.
- If payment has not been received by the past due date, no second notice will be sent, prior to disconnection of service and locking of meter.
- Once disconnected for non-payment of bills, the total amount owed is due and must be paid in cash, credit card, money order or certified check, along with a $50.00 disconnect processing fee, in order to have service restored. In addition, any outstanding fees or deposits not previously paid shall be collected before service is restored. NO SERVICE WILL BE RESTORED AFTER 4 P.M., WEEKENDS AND/OR HOLIDAYS.
- An additional fee of $10.00 will be charged for locks which have been broken, damaged, or removed.
- For an account which continues to be delinquent and the lock was previously broken, the water meter will be removed and a twenty-five ($25.00) service fee will be charged to reset the meter.
- PAYMENTS FOR RECONNECTION
- Cash payments must be made at the Tax Collectors Office located in the Union County Government Center - 500 N. Main St. First Floor.
- Credit card payments (VISA, American Express, Master Card or Discover) may be made by calling 1-800-272-9829. You will be prompted for the following information:
- Jurisdiction code number. Please enter the number 4352.
- Utility account number. Your account number can be found on your most recent billing. When prompted, enter all the numbers.
- Occupant number.
- Amount of your payment.
- Once you have entered all the information, you will be informed of the amount of the fee charged by the credit card company for the processing of your transaction. After acceptance, you will be given a confirmation number.
- For reconnection of your water service, you must call Customer Service at 704-296-4210 before 4 p.m. and provide them with the confirmation number you were given by the credit card company.
