The Union County Solid Waste Department operates six satellite collection container sites throughout Union County. Sites are generally open on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Effective November 1, 2011, the New Salem site will only be open on Saturdays from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Facilities are set up to accept only bagged household garbage and recyclable materials listed here.  All other items must be brought to the main landfill.  Click here for rate schedule.  Recyclables and used motor oil (where accepted) are free of charge.  Please bring small bills or change only.

All children must remain in the vehicle while on collection site premises. For your safety we require that customers remain off of the wall while disposing of items.

  Directions:  Stack Road past Stack Road Fire Department. The first street to the right is Armfield Mill Road. The container drop-off site is located on the left side of the road.
• New Salem Collection Site  (Effective 11-1-2011, open 7 am - 7 pm Saturdays only)

  Directions:  New Salem Road to Highway 218. Turn right. Go approximately 3 miles. Site is located on the right just before the Richardson Creek bridge.

  Directions:  Highway 200 South to traffic light. Turn right onto Rocky River Road. Turn to left onto Parkwood School Road. The container site is just before Parkwood High School on the right side of the road.
• Piedmont Collection Site

  Directions:  Sikes Mill Road. Bare right onto Love Mill Road. The container site is located on the left directly behind Piedmont High School.
• Sun Valley Collection Site

  Directions:  Old Charlotte Highway from Monroe to the traffic light at Sun Valley High School. Turn left onto Wesley Chapel-Stouts Road. The container site is located on the let between Sun Valley High School and Sun Valley Middle School.

  Directions:  Highway 601 South to White Store Road. Turn left onto White Store Road. Go approximately 5 miles. The container site is located on the left just beyond Snyder Store Road.
