This project is a new Human Services Building for Union County to be located on a +/- 30 acre site at the intersection of Concord Avenue and Skyway Drive. Designed by Perkins+Will Architects, the building will be the new home of the Social Services Department, Public Health Department and Human Services Administration currently located on Hwy 74 in Monroe. The work includes construction of a new 143,728 square foot, three-story building of steel frame construction with exterior walls of masonry on structural steel studs, aluminum curtain wall and storefront systems, and a single-ply membrane roof. Interior construction includes gypsum wall board on metal stud framing. Ceiling treatments throughout the building will incorporate areas of acoustical ceiling tiles for the public areas and a combination of exposed structure and acoustical ceiling tiles in the office and clinical areas. All plumbing, mechanical, and electrical work shall be included. Site work includes construction of approximately 300 space parking lot and a stormwater detention pond. Enhanced building commissioning will be provided by a Commissioning agent contracted through Union County.
