Frank Aikmus, commissioner

Commissioner Aikmus was elected to the Union County Board of Commissioners in November of 2012.

Commissioner Aikmus has been a resident of Union County since 2007 when he moved to the area with his wife Angie. He grew up in a rural community in Platte County, Missouri. He graduated from Park College in Parkville, Missouri in 1995. He has spent the past 16 years of his working career in the banking and finance industry. Commissioner Aikmus currently sits, as a Senate appointee, on the N.C. Debt Affordability Advisory Committee. Additionally, he has been actively involved and served on numerous community boards and groups. He is an Eagle Scout who attributes many of his leadership skills to Scouting.

Commissioner Aikmus is committed to a common sense approach to local government. Chairman Aikmus welcomes citizen input to issues facing Union County and it’s residents.
