April 20, 2015, Marshville, NC – “A new age begins” on Saturday, April 25 from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. at Union County Public Library in Monroe with the unveiling of the new design for the Superhero Library Card at an event to promote the new film “Avengers: Age of Ultron.”
The Union County Public Library is once again teaming up with Marvel to promote the release of the library’s new Superhero card along with Marvel’s new film, “Avengers: Age of Ultron.” Artist Al Bigley, designer of the previous Superhero Library Card, has also created the new design, which features two all-new superheroes and ties into this year’s Summer Reading theme, “Every Hero Has a Story.” Bigley will be available during the event to sign prints of the new design. “Avengers: Age of Ultron” giveaways will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, which include t-shirts, posters and stickers. A drawing will also be held at the event for passes to an advance screening of the film.
“Our first Superhero Card was such a success and so well received in the community, that we’re very excited to present this new design to our patrons,” said Library Director Nina Meadows. “Being able to partner with Marvel again and promote our card along with “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” the most anticipated superhero movie of all time, is just an amazing opportunity for our library.”
Attendees will be able to pre-register for the new Superhero Card during the event for free and be among the first to receive the new card when it arrives in mid-May. Superheroes of all ages are encouraged to attend, wearing their best Avengers or Marvel inspired costumes. Marvel’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron” opens in theaters May 1 and stars Robert Downey Jr., as Iron Man, along with Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Mark Ruffalo as Hulk and Chris Evans as Captain America.
